Dai Matsuoka Performance Series "Dessin La #5"
Lives and Performances in the Toritsudaigaku City!"Dessin La" is a series of monthly dance performances by Dai Matsuoka.
Through this project, Matsuoka accumulates experience to render his own dance piece.
This is the 5th event, in which he hangs out the selected venues around the Toritsudaigaku Station with other performers to make lives in public.
It goes like this; While walking through the city performing, each performer should visit the respective points on the scheduled timing.
With the timetable and map passed from the presentor, the audience will be able to choose any performance as they like.
In this particular community, Matsuoka aims to see what would compose "theater" in everyday life.

"Dessin La #4"Dai Matsuoka's series project "Dessin La" now provides the site specific dance and music performances that are open for public.
Each performer walks through the city and makes live performances on the scheduled timing at the specific points.
This time, the performers were thrilled and excited by the unexpected reactions from the types of audience who either happened to witness the live or chose to be there, knowing about it beforehand.
"Serendipity" is becoming a very important word not only for those who're involved in this project, but also for those who just watch them.
It takes place every month around the city called "Toritsudaigaku," which is only about 15 minute-long by train from Shibuya.DIRECTION: Dai Matsuoka

Kokutoh-in Butoh Performance "Kei-Hitsu"
Butoh group Kokutoh-in, founded by Semimaru, participated in the dance festival at Kagurazaka die pratze and Nippori d-soko.
Semimaru, who has been a dancer for Sankaijuku for over 30 years, directed the performance.

surface unseen
surface unseen is a collaboration piece by Dai Matsuoka who is a dancer for the Butoh company Sankaijuku and also pursues to form his own style of dance, and Nicole LeGette who is vigorously absorbing many kinds of performing arts all over the world from which she has nourished her unique performing sense and style, achieving a lot of attention in the Chicago art scene. The two bodies with different cultural contexts encounter each other through breathing, where the invisible "MA" is explored and its surface, that is to say, "surface unseen" is focused on.

Nicole LeGette(blusshing poppy productions) Biography
Nicole LeGette, a maverick of Chicago's dance and performance art scene, is the only regional artist dedicated to performing, producing, and teaching butoh; a rigorous, expressive form of dance-theater that originated in 1959 Japan. blushing poppy productions encompasses these endeavors. Since 2000, Nicole has trained with master butoh artists such as Yoshito Ono, Koichi Tamano, Natsu Nakajima, and Diego Pinon in Japan, Mexico, Canada, and across the US; and has produced several of these artists in Chicago-based events. Nicole was selected as Chicago Dancemakers Forum lab artist (2007-2008) and has received numerous grants from the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs (2002-2009) and Chicago Seminar on Dance and Performance (2007). Primarily a solo performer, Ms. LeGette's dance has been presented throughout the US. In addition to performing, Nicole organizes workshops and curates events that bring regional, national, and international butoh artists to Chicago. The University of Chicago, The School Of The Art Institute Of Chicago, Columbia College Chicago, and Illinois State University (among others) have featured Ms. LeGette's artistry and teaching.

Yuichi Tsukada Exhibition "Hangetsu"
Here is the exhibition of Yuichi Tsukada, a garden designer and flower artist who also runs Onshitsu, a rooftop garden in Daikanyama, Tokyo. The exhibition takes the unique form as a collaborative performance work with Dai Matsuoka and Koichi Hiroki. It's a rare chance to see Tsukada's flower art works merging with live dance, music and lighting sets.

Analemma
The live performance by voice performer Maria and Dai Matsuoka will take place at Izuruba Studio. Her voice is dressed with various emotions and the body who listens to it produces the air that is to be vibrated newly. The title "Analemma" means "a curve representing the angular offset of a celestial body (usually the Sun) from its mean position on the celestial sphere as viewed from another celestial body relative to the viewing body's celestial equator. Chicotz and Dai Matsuoka
Chicotz is the experimental band cosisting of the vocal and the drummer, whose music has always been true to their bodies. Now they will play the live session with Dai Matsuoka at Theater Iwato in Kagurazaka. For live painting, Reiichiro Maeda will join the performance in which the unprecedented kind of music will be "heard and watched." Himesharajuku Butoh Performance
Dai Matsuoka is taking part in the Himesharajuku butoh performance both as a performer and as an assistant director. It will be an open-air show, taking place at the Senryu-ji temple near the Komae station. The performance is based on one of the old Japanese stories about a young girl who was vainly in love with a monk and committed suicide by drowning herself in the pond to haunt her village. Sachiko Noguchi, the leader of the group, creates the piece with very unique performing members including Junko Irie, Masatsugu Igarashi and Naoaki Kamo. Live music is Shakuhachi playing by Yosuke Irie and for other scenes the tunes are edited and manipulated by Yoshiaki Kikuya, a member of [b].

Bullet's 10th Anniversary Party
Dai Matsuoka will participate in the Bullet's 10th Anniversary events. Following "NEAR MATTER," [b], who was formerly known as [b] Laptop orchestra, will tag along with him for the event on 4/28. The programer moxuse joining to fortify the crew, this time they try on the theme of "voice." Dai Matsuoka will "jam" the music-dance session with Chicotz on 5/10. The band is composed of the two figures of Kenji Osumi (vocal) and Dai Otake (drums).

"NEAR MATTER"
NEAR MATTER is a project work directed by Dai Matsuoka, who is also a dancer for the worldly known Butoh group Sankaijuku. In this art performance he invites Airi Suzuki, who has been trainded various dance methods in New York and has just come back from her own independent activity in Berlin, and [b] Laptop orchestra whose unique style of media expression is based on "circuit bending" of electronic gadgets,computers and media instruments, with accidental sound effects emerging through manual interference with the circuit boards.
